Kenyan Man Accidentally Hacks Pregnant Sister to Death

A 25-year-old man, Amos Cheruiyot, who meant to hack his uncle accidentally ended up killing his pregnant sister.

According to a report by Citizen Digital on March 4, Cheruiyot allegedly hacked her sister Caroline Chepkorir.

Borowet Chief Geoffrey Chirchir confirmed the incident and stated that Chepkorir died while trying to stop a fight between her brother and their uncle.

Chirchir narrated that the suspect, armed with a panga, got home in a drunken stupor and went straight after his uncle.

He then proceeded to accuse the uncle of looking down on their mother. This sparked a heated altercation between the duo, rapidly escalating into a fight that forced Chepkorir to intervene and try to separate them.

It was at this point that the panga, which the brother wanted to use on his uncle, accidentally tore through her thigh.

The suspect was detained at Kipkelion Police Station awaiting arraignment, while his sister’s body was taken to St Vincent Hospital Mortuary in Muhoroni.

This incident comes days after two robbery suspects were nabbed by officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations on Tuesday, February 25, following a ludicrous turn of events.

The suspects had raided the house of Voices of Gospel Church Bishop Paul Gitonga, and his wife Eunice Muthoni, on February 1, and went on to hack them using machetes.

However, during the melee, one of the suspects accidentally chopped off two of his accomplice’s fingers, forcing both to flee the crime scene, leaving behind a severed finger without giving it much thought.

“We used part of an index finger chopped off from the hand of a suspect by his accomplice and arrested the two suspects involved in the attack,” Molo Deputy County Commissioner, David Wanyonyi stated.
