How to differentiate between normal flu and Coronavirus

Kenya announced its first coronavirus case on March 13, 2020, news that caught most Kenyans unawares.

Coronavirus has been spreading in different parts of the world, leaving many confused about what they should do.

The symptoms of the virus are quite similar to those of the flu, but how do you differentiate between the flu and coronavirus?

Coronavirus is the name of a group of viruses that are named because they have the appearance of a crown. These viruses have been known for decades as causes of upper respiratory infections in people, never very serious.

The flu is a common viral infection that can be deadly, especially in high-risk groups. The flu attacks the lungs, nose, and throat.

Extreme exhaustion starts early and one can experience a stuffy nose and sneezing at times.

The incubation period of a coronavirus patient is between 1-14 days and may go up to 24 days. As for the flu, it takes 1-4 days.

For treatment, there are no vaccines or antiviral drugs available for Coronavirus and only symptoms can be treated. For the flu and annual flu vaccine is available.
