Deputy President William Ruto has once again forced to respond to a headline carried by the Standard on Wednesday April 29, 2020. The newspaper carried a headline, entitled ‘Speaking in Tongues’, in reference to the way DP Ruto takes to the bible in fighting his political woes.
The DP took to his twitter handle to respond to the sensational title. He tweeted, “I love speaking in tongues. The devil doesn’t understand this language of God(1cor 14.2).Those who have no god fathers let’s proudly speak in tongues to our GOD the FATHER.With this pandemic let’s pray for God’s healing, work together to feed the hungry plan to repair our hustles.”
Here are some of the bible quotations the DP has made “Psalm 27: 1-4 Of David. The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? When evildoers assail me to eat up my flesh, my adversaries and foes, it is they who stumble and fall.” (April 26, 2020)
He went on, “One thing have I asked of the LORD, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to inquire in his temple. Though an army encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war arise against me, yet I will be confident.”

On April 19, 2020, the DP posted, “1 Peter 5:10 And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.”
The DP has of late been taking to social media to quote inspirational bible verses even as his stay in Jubilee government experiences teething hiccups.
The DP’s relationship with his erstwhile bosom friend President Uhuru Kenyatta has clearly gone south, with the president drifting far apart from him.
