Firebrand Nandi Hills constituency Members of Parliament Alfred Keter has now revealed that he has no personal differences with Deputy President William Ruto and his 2022 presidential ambitions.
While speaking during a radio interview on Wednesday morning at KASS Fm, Keter said that Ruto only needs to consult with the entire Kalenjin community and the self-proclaimed hustler should desist from taking advice from only the youth who have been misleading him.
“I don’t have a problem with the Deputy President running for the presidency. I just want us all to consult and plan well. DP needs to seek advice from elders and not young people who mislead him,” Keter said.
Keter further said that Ruto’s decision to dissolve his United Republican Party( URP) was his biggest mistake and is the main reason why he has been facing humiliations in the current Jubilee party. Keter said his efforts to convince Ruto not to dissolve URP during the formation of the Jubilee party hit a dead wall as Ruto decided not to take his advice.
“I had advised the DP Ruto to keep URP because we shall have our own political outfit even though we are joining Jubilee. He said President Uhuru Kenyatta is his friend and will not betray him. The Kalenjin community should have remained with URP and joined Jubilee as a coalition just like ODM did in NASA,” Keter added.
The legislator’s declaration comes at a time when the ruling Jubilee party has been taken over by heated wrangles as Ruto and his allies have continuously cried foul on the recent administration of the party.
