One of Migori Governor Okoth Obado’s daughter is yet to come to terms with the reality that she was arrested.
A local daily reported that it has been a baptism of fire for the Governor’s four children; Dan Achola, Scarlet Susan, Jerry Zachary and Evelyne Odhiambo who are in custody alongside their dad over corruption charges.
Used to their lucrative homes in both Migori and Nairobi, the Obado’s have spent the past few days in dingy cells in Nairobi.
Whereas the Governor and his two sons were locked up at the EACC cells at Integrity House which have beds and mattresses, his daughters were not lucky and have spent nights on cold floors at Kileleshwa Police Station.
Sources say that Scarlet has been the most affected as she spent most of her days sleeping at the corner of the cell.
An officer at the Police Station told journalists that they were concerned the princess could have been sick.
“At first, we thought she (Scarlet) was sick but after interrogating her, we came to learn that she was only in shock and bored,” the officer said.
Scarlet studied law at the University of Nairobi. Her course mates say that she was the envy of many people as she ate life with a big spoon.
This could be the reason she has been unable to process the new realities.
She will however be thankful to her mother Helen, who has been driving to the police station at least thrice a day to bring them home made food.
Helen has also been allowed to bring her daughters a change of clothes.
