Deputy President William Ruto’s bid for Presidency has been dealt a huge blow after a delegation of Kikuyu Council of Elders made way to Raila’s home on Friday, April 30, 2021.
The Kikuyu elders led by the chair Wachira Kiago of the ‘Kiamaa kia Maa’ visited Raila at his home where they enjoyed lunch together.
In attendance was Peter Kenneth who is being fronted as the Kikuyu’s spokesman after Uhuru’s term. Peter Kenneth is expected to be crowned the Mt Kenya Region shot caller ahead of 2022 elections.
The visit deals a blow to Ruto’s ambition of leading MT Kenya as the council is known of calling the shots in terms of regional leadership.
Raila revealed some of the details they discussed upon including the unity of Kenyans and regions ahead of the 2022 general elections.
Raila stated that the conversation they had was all about moving the country forward and not on the patchy path of tribal lines that have led to annihilation and hatred.
