Murathe Changes Tune on Raila as Details Leak on how Uhuru Will Choose His 2022 Successor

With the clock ticking towards the 2022 general elections Jubilee Party Vice Chairperson David Murathe has been among the key vocal leaders hinting at who Uhuru might endorse come 2022.

Last year Murathe made it clear that their choice ahead of the 2022 elections was former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

Murathe has even been on record dismissing DP Ruto’s 2022 presidential ambitions insisting that he will not be the one who will succeed Uhuru.

Murathe has today appeared to have changed tune on Raila being Uhuru’s choice.

Speaking to Daily Nation, Murathe has revealed that President Uhuru does not have any preferred Successor at the moment.

According to Murathe, Uhuru’s attention is currently on the Building Bridges Initiative and not the 2022 succession politics.

This is quite a major change of tune from his last year’s declaration that 2022 would be Raila’s Mandela moment.

Details have at the same time emerged on how Uhuru will choose his next Successor.

As reported by Daily Nation, it has emerged that Uhuru might in the end choose his successor from the BBI team that would be formed after the Referendum goes through.

He thus might be forced to rally all the opposition figures together to meke them worthy competitors of Ruto because many believe that Ruto could easily win if the opposition is divided.
