Judge William Ouko before the JSC vetting panel today.
For another time, Judge William Ouko presented himself to be vetted for the position to seat on the seven member judge of the Supreme Court, after failing to secure the seat of the Chief Justice, last time he was vetted.
After a number of commissioners had presented their question to the calm judge, who eloquently answered their questions oozing wisdom, it was time for commissioner Kosgei to grill the judge.
On his last question, the commissioner talked of the response he received from the public, after the last vetting, and even days before today, of the number of Kenyans who were rooting for Judge Ouko to take the last position on the bench.
After praise, the commissioner asked the judge on how they should deliberate on the issue, so as the public could see the process as fair, and that tribalism did not take part.
In his calmness, the judge started by quoting some words that have been said by politicians, “It is our time to eat” and followed it up by stating that as a society we are deeply, emphasizing on the word deeply to drive the point.
The judge said the country is deeply tribal, going ahead and pointing finger to the commission, telling them that even them they are deeply tribal as he ended his response.
His response seems to be attacking sort of mystic system-deep state
