Today’s has been a chaotic Saturday full of accidents in the Kenyan roads. According to a report by Citizen TV, this Saturday only we lost 17 lives due to road accidents at different areas.
What is painful is the fact that among those accidents, two of them killed people from the same family. In Mwembeni, Voi, 5 people of the same family died on the spot. In Sosyambu, gilgil along the Nairobi-Nakuru highway, another family of 3 perished after their vehicle slammed into a truck. On friday, same place, four people died after their vehicle was involved in accident with a bus making this place a blackspot.
According to reliable sources, Mr Joseph Njeka, his wife and kid died on the spot a few metres from his gilgil home. It is alleged that they had come from a function in upcountry and he was over speeding and overtaking carelessly. The couple were currently teachers at Coulson Girls high school which is located at Gilgil.
