Murang’a High School’s Simiyu Robinson Wanjala Tops 2020 KCSE

This was the first national examination in which 747,161 candidates wrote their papers after nearly one year break due to the coronavirus pandemic that saw schools closed in March 2020.

In the results released by Education Cabinet Secretary on Monday, May 10, Simiyu Robinson Wanjala from Murang’a High School was announced the top student.

There were 893 candidates who scored A (plain) which was an improvement compared to 627 in 2019.

Nineteen subjects recorded significant improvement.

A total of 143, 140 scored university entry grades compared to 125, 747 in 2019.

A total of 223 special needs scored c+ and above
