Two herders in Laikipia who shot a police officer arrested

Two illegal grazers who shot two National Police Reservists and one ranger on patrol at the Sosian Ranch in Laikipia County have been arrested.

The two were part of a larger group of illegal grazers who ambushed the aforementioned ranch on October 5, armed with AK47 rifles, and shot at the officers who were on normal patrol.

The authorities commissioned a combined team of officers from the Kenya Police Service and the General Service Unit to nab the group.

The team visited the scene at Tinga Mara where two suspects were arrested and two live ammunitions of 7.62mm recovered.

The duo was escorted to Rumuruti Police Station and are currently being processed for prosecution.
