Trouble is looming for Pastor James Ng’ang’a after the Media Council of Kenya (MCK) threatened to shut down his Television Station.

In a statement on Thursday, October 28, Pastor Ng’ang’a is accused of violating the code of conduct in journalism from how he runs his station to what is discussed live.

The statement was signed by MCK Chief Executive Officer (CEO) David Omwoyo.

MCK said that the pastor, who never shies from being controversial, on October 9, 2021, used offensive language on a live TV program.

Terming the statements made as a breach of code of conduct set by the media regulator, regarding the obscenity, taste and tone of reporting, MCK maintained that action must be taken against the man of the cloth.

“The media house in question breached clause 5 (b) (c) on Accountability and 10 (1) on Obscenity, Taste and Tone in Reporting by allowing a presenter, Apostle James Maina Ng’ang’a in a live broadcast from ‘Jerusalem City Kenya’s at 1024hours where he uttered offensive and unprintable words on-air,” the statement issued by MCK read in part.

Currently, MCK said that it was still in the process of checking out what will be the issues that they will raise with Ng’ang’a before they eventually take action against the station.

The pastor has hit news headlines in the recent past because of statements he has been making on TV as he preaches.

On the incident that has attracted the attention of MCK, the evangelist spoke unprintable words on how nurses should handle him once he is dead.

Again, he recently, stated that he had numerous children and grandchildren across the country especially in the Eastern Region.

Two weeks ago, the pastor was forgiven by court in a ksh3.6 million fraud case after both parties agreed to settle the matter out of court.
