The Judge who sentenced DCI Kinoti now claims his life is in danger

The High Court Judge who sentenced the Directorate of Criminal Investigations ( DCI) boss, George Kinoti, to a four-month jail term at the Kamiti Maximum Prison, now claims that his life is in danger.

While delivering the ruling on Thursday, November 18, Justice Anthony Mrima stated he had been threatened by some senior state officers for allegedly making unfavourable rulings against the state.

The Judge, however, did not mention the case that had led to the threats on his life. He revealed that an emissary had asked him to stop being personal when making his rulings.

In addition, the emissary warned that the Judge would be dealt with if he did not heed to the warning.

Justice Mrima further stated that it was not the first time he was receiving such threats or facing actual acts of attacks.

The court found him guilty of contempt after failing to return a firearm confiscated from businessman and presidential hopeful, Jimi Wanjigi.

Mrima directed Inspector General of Police, Hillary Mutyambai, to enforce the directive.
