Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has come out to dismiss reports by recent pollsters who have been projecting his popularity in this year’s presidential race as dismal.

According to the One Kenya Alliance co-principal, the polls are mere ‘fake news’ which he is not fazed by.

“For me it is very simple: fake news! One percent Kalonzo Musyoka, surely? It is fake and Kenyans know it,” stated Kalonzo in a Friday interview with Citizen TV

The Wiper leader maintained that he is determined to clinch the top seat come next year, saying he is at the ripe age to lead the country.

As the run-up to the 2022 General Election in August intensifies, Kalonzo has been getting relatively low reviews from opinion polls, the latest of which placed him at 1% alongside his OKA co-principal Musalia Mudavadi.

According to the recent Infotrak poll, 52 per cent of Kenyans want OKA to dissolve and join either Raila Odinga or Deputy President William Ruto’s camp.

Among those who want OKA to dissolve, the survey projected, 55 per cent want the co-principals to support Raila.

44 per cent of the respondents told the pollsters that they want Mudavadi to be a running mate of either Ruto or Raila, while 19 per cent suggested Kalonzo to be a running mate.

11 per cent chose Moi while 3 per cent chose Wetang’ula.
