A hawker who was captured on camera giving cash to prisoners receives Sh300k reward

Good deeds often do not go unrewarded and a hawker’s kind deed to prisoners have made him richer in thousands in hours.

The young man became an internet sensation after he was spotted sharing his personal money to prisoners in a correctional service vehicle in Ajah, Lagos.

A recent update about the hawker by @rockyemmyphotography on Instagram indicates that his student account has been flagged as he received well over N300k in financial donations.

In a recent interview, the bottled water hawker stated that there was no inspiration behind his kind act to the prisoners.

Admitting that he wasn’t well to do, the young man said he took pity on the prisoners as unlike him, they do not have freedom and as such could not enjoy ordinary things like moving about freely.

He explained that he had started off with one of the prisoners by giving the person N100 but eventually shared the same denomination with other prisoners who cried out for theirs.
