Police in Mozambique say the head of a bald man has been chopped by criminals who wanted to sell it to a client from Mali.
There has been a disturbing trend of suspected ritual killings targeting men with bald heads has authorities in Mozambique totally concerned.
The latest such incident to be reported in the country involves a man who was decapitated by perpetrators who had planned on selling it to a client in Mali. The prospective buyer is said to have vanished before the grim transaction could even be completed.
It is reported that after the client fled, they abandoned the head in the central town of Muandiwa and now local police are investigating the gruesome case.
There’s no indication as to where exactly the belief that the heads of bald men contain gold, but it emerges from several areas in Mozambique. It was the BBC that first reported on the grim ritual killings as early as 2017.
In the central district of Milange, police had warned that such killings were on the rise after at least five men were viciously murdered for their body parts.
Police suspect that the belief was created by local witch-doctors as a way to get their clients to bring human heads to them for their own motives.
