Businessman Richard Ngatia Endorsed by Jubilee Party as its preferred Candidate For Nairobi Governorship Race

President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee Party (JP) has settled on businessman Richard Ngatia as its candidate for Nairobi governor seat in the upcoming general election.
Speaking during the party’s National Delegates Convention (NDC), JP Secretary General Raphael Tuju said Ngatia will be Azimio la Umoja Movement’s candidate for Nairobi County.
“As a party, we have settled on Ngatia. Our party leader President Uhuru Kenyatta will also be confirming that when he attends our meeting on Saturday.
“Nairobi is the capital city and we want to have a leadership that will reflect the image of our country. Affiliate parties in Azimio will help us with Deputy Governor and the other seats,” Tuju stated.
Already, Tuju said, the party has started negotiations to get a person who will deputise Ngatia.
Westlands MP Timothy Wanyonyi is also another candidate under Azimio who has expressed his interest in the seat.
Wanyonyi is a member of Raila Odinga-led Orange Democratic Movement party.
