Vdeo: MP Aspirant Arrested for Disrupting DP Ruto’s Rally

Lamu West MP aspirant Abdirashid Mwaura has been arrested for interrupting Deputy President William Ruto’s rally in Hindi, Lamu county.

Confirming the incident was OCPD Geoffrey Osanane.

In a video, the hopeful MP resisted arrest and was dragged to a waiting police vehicle by four officers.

Mwaura is apparently vying for the parliamentary seat on a Party of National Unity (PNU) ticket.

Meanwhile,Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has criticised Deputy President William Ruto for demanding an apology from his boss President Uhuru Kenyatta.

While addressing locals in Lamu yesterday, Thursday, the DP said President Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga wasted Kenyans’ precious time with the BBI and should apologise.

In his statement, Ruto argued that the initiative that was declared unconstitutional by the Supreme Court was meant to benefit the interest of a few individuals bound to reap from the creation of more government positions.

But speaking during a political meeting in support of Peter Kagwanja, a senatorial aspirant for Murang’a County, Kalonzo took issue with Ruto for exhibiting disrespect to his boss, a trend he termed as not only distasteful but also foreign.

Kalonzo, who urged Ruto to resign for agreeing to fly the presidential flag of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) in the upcoming polls, criticized him for leading a hateful, inciteful political campaign against his boss.

“There is no president in the world like Uhuru Kenyatta who persevers criticism, hate and abuses from his junior. Uhuru, a man who has been unclothed naked by his deputy must be a statesman,” he said.

The former Vice President, who spoke at a hotel in Thika, revealed that he had been angered for Kenya and will do everything possible to persuade citizens against Ruto.

“I am angered for my country. I have come to persuade you to calm your political hate for Uhuru. Calm down to avoid plunging the country into more unbearable economic challenges, ” he said.

He at the same time urged Christians across the country to be careful not to be deceived by politicians camouflaging themselves as well-meaning only for them to establish a different picture of them.

“President Uhuru has talked to you Mt Kenya people thrice but you’re still reluctant of heeding to his political directions. Stand firm and save Kenya,” he said.
