Dp Ruto To Have More Influence In Senate Than Raila

Kenya Kwanza presidential candidate William Ruto will numerically have more strength in the Senate than his Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance counterpart Raila Odinga if the already announced senatorial results are anything to go by.

Twenty-four Senators-elect clinched their respective seats through parties affiliated to the Kenya Kwanza coalition while the Azimio La Umoja coalition party cumulatively secured 23 seats in the elections held on August 9th

Most of the senators-elect in the Kenya Kwanza faction emerged victorious in DP Ruto’s backyard of Rift Valley while the alliance also enjoyed significant victories in the Mt. Kenya region.

Kenya Kwanza likewise bagged a single senate seat each in Kakamega, Marsabit and Tana River Counties.

“It is now official; Kenya Kwanza controls the Senate. Thank youKenyans for the trust,” Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen posted on Twitter on Friday.

In the 2017 General Election, Odinga’s Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) camp clinched 20 senate seats while outgoing President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee clinched 27 out of the possible 47 seats in the senate.
