Police Officer Guarding Ruto’s Karen Mansion Dies

A police officer attached to President William Ruto’s Karen residence has succumbed to injuries sustained in a vicious fight that occurred on July 21, 2022.
Reports indicated that the corporal engaged in an altercation with a gardener before the squabble turned into a physical fight. The gardener allegedly hit the officer on the rear part of the head.
The officer’s family affirmed that he died at Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral & Research Hospital (KUTRRH) while nursing severe injuries- six months later.
The cop’s brother affirmed that the deceased was admitted at Nairobi West hospital before being transferred to KUTRRH.
“We are seeking justice for our brother because he was attacked while on duty and suffered for several months in hospital before he succumbed to the injuries,” the victim’s brother stated.
According to the family, they spent a fortune to cater for the medical expenses of the deceased as his bills amounted to over Ksh5 million. Part of the expenses was also paid by the police medical insurance.
The family, while pushing for justice to be served, called for the expeditious conclusion of the case.
The officer was the sole breadwinner of his family. He left behind his wife and two children.
During his time as the Deputy President, Ruto was guarded by over 200 security personnel drawn from different units.
This was revealed by former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i who at the time divulged that Ruto was the most guarded deputy president in the country’s history.
The former CS affirmed that Ruto had a total of 257 officers deployed to guard him as well as secure his residences and properties.
