The plight of a staunch supporter of Roselyne Akinyi alias Mama Orange, a sworn supporter of ODM leader Raila Odinga has reached the party headquarters.
On Friday, November 16, Secretary General Edwin Sifuna and a delegation of Nairobi party officials held a meeting with the funeral committee for burial of Akinyi’s son, Victor Otieno.
Sifuna confirmed he handed a sum of KSh 210,000 to the family which will cater for burial arrangements for Victor who died on October 23, 2018.
This was on top of another KSh 106,000 which had been given to Akinyi by the party for the same.
TUKO.co.ke reported on Sunday, April 29, how Mama Orange begged for help from members of the public over a huge hospital bill her son who was admitted to Mbagathi Hospital after suffering meningitis attack had accrued.
She had then made a passionate appeal to Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris to help her offset the KSh 500,000 bill.
Victor took his last breath on October 23.
Following his demise, the Opposition party came under fire from online users for neglecting the woman considered as the face of the Orange party loyalty.
