A renowned Machakos businessman was on Wednesday evening found dead in his car with 100 needles next to his body.
According to reports, Peter Mwangangi Mula’s body was discovered in Masinga, Machakos County.
The police probing the matter suspected that the deceased was injected with a lethal substance.
The needles were suspected to have pricked his body at the scene of the crime with his hands tied to the driver’s seat.
Mwangangi, 53, was identified by police as the owner of REXX Bar at Kenyoonyoo and was found at around 9 pm at Kwasuvu village.
According to Daily Nation, the deceased was taken out of his bar at around 4 pm for a mission in which he was to give the caller his license to get past police roadblocks.
“Mr Mula was with his friends taking beer at Kanyoonyoo market centre. He was signalled out of the bar and (he)told his friends that the caller had requested him for his driving licence in order to drive past a police roadblock at Kanyonyoo,” revealed a police report.
Later that evening, the assistant chief of the area, Ngovi Muasya, received reports that his car had been spotted abandoned with its door wide open.
When he visited the scene, he found the businessman on the back seat with blood stains in his abdomen.
The matter is still under investigation. His body was taken to Matuu Mediance Mortuary in Yatta.
