A furious customer cut off his little finger and flung it in the face of a phone shop manager – because she refused him a new handset.
The 40-year-old man was attempting to upgrade at a store in the Russian city of Minsk.
The customer from Belarus was reportedly furious after being forbidden from paying by instalments.
She told him he was in debt for his existing phone.
The 40 year old unemployed man from Minsk then repaid the debt in full but the Minsk mobile company still refused him a new agreement.
CCTV footage shows he went to a supermarket in the same Korona shopping mall and found a kitchen knife.
He took off the packaging before putting his hand on the floor and cutting off his little finger.
“He took the severed finger, returned to the mobile phone shop, and threw the finger into the face of the woman manager who refused to sell him a phone,” said a police statement.
The manager was left “shocked” at his protest.
The man was questioned by police and said the act was his revenge because she “cheated him” by refusing him a new phone deal.
He would not have paid back his debt if he knew she would still refuse to sell him a new phone, he said.
An ambulance took the man to hospital, with pictures showing blood on the floor of the mall.
